Founder | Clinical & Sport Psychologist | Certified Mental Performance Consultant®

Dr. Tess M. Kilwein (she/they)

Dr. Kilwein is a board certified clinical and sport psychologist and Certified Mental Performance Consult® based out of Nashville, TN. After stepping down as a Sport Psychologist for Vanderbilt Athletics, they expanded Unapologetic Psychology PLLC to more broadly serve the mental health and performance needs of athletes, performers, professionals (e.g., healthcare, executive), rural populations, and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals across the US. Dr. Kilwein specializes in alcohol & substance use, medical & sexual health issues, sex & relationships, and trauma & loss. They are trauma-informed and incorporate feminist, multicultural, and liberation therapy techniques throughout their work with clients.

Board-Certified Coach

Annie Rendall (she/her)

Annie is a former collegiate athlete and Board-Certified Coach based out of Jackson, Wyoming. She joined Unapologetic Psychology PLLC in 2025 and specializes in coaching athletes, performers, and professionals in developing mental skills for peak performance. Annie holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Dartmouth College and a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Wyoming. With extensive experience as both a former Division I NCAA alpine ski racer and an alpine ski coach, Annie is uniquely positioned to understand the pressures, challenges, and opportunities that come with being a competitive athlete and other high performance populations. Annie’s coaching approach focuses on exploring and engaging with core values, cultivating mental strength and resilience, and supporting both personal and professional growth.

Graduate Clinician

Rye Hoogerwerf (they/them)

Rye is a fifth year graduate-student clinician in the clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Wyoming. They have been with Unapologetic Psychology PLLC as a graduate student clinician since 2022. Rye specializes in trauma/PTSD related to sexual/intimate partner violence, transgender/gender expansive concerns, and working with those who have marginalized identities. With a trauma-informed approach that is flexibly rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapies, Rye focuses primarily on working with LGBTQIA2S+ populations.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

​Z Perry-Hodges (they/them)

Z is a nonbinary, queer, and neurodivergent licensed clinical social worker based out of Georgia who is licensed to practice in Tennessee, Georgia, and Illinois. They joined Unapologetic Psychology PLLC in 2025. Z works primarily with LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent folks, as well as people outside of these identities who are seeking support through an embodied, liberated approach. Z specializes in transgender and queer issues, neurodivergence, identity development, sexuality, non-traditional relationship structures, anxiety, depression, and trauma. They utilize elements of liberation psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, somatics, and more to meet the needs of each individual client with an approachable, down-to-earth style.

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate | Certified Mental Performance Consultant® 

Dr. Brooke Rundle (she/they)

Dr. Rundle is a former professional athlete, licensed professional clinical counselor, and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® based out of CO. They joined Unapologetic Psychology PLLC in 2025 and specializes in issues and concerns related to sports and performance, emotion regulation, body dissatisfaction and eating concerns, gender identity, sexuality, coming out, relationships, family dynamics, life/career transitions, and spirituality. Dr. Rundle utilizes a mindfulness based, trauma-informed, and relationally focused approach to therapy that draws from Internal Family Systems, Relational Culture Theory, Nature-based, and Somatic based therapy techniques.

Graduate Mental Performance Consultant

Emma Miller (she/her)

Emma is a former Division I soccer player and a graduate student in the Kinesiology and Human Performance program at Barry University. She has provided mental performance services under mentorship of Dr. Kilwein since 2024. Emma is passionate about supporting athletes and performers. She emphasizes maximizing  potential by developing mental skills and strategies to enhance performance, foster growth, and improve overall well-being. Emma's specialties include mindfulness, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, breathwork, and transitions.
